Tork Craft Mini Digital Torque Wrench 1/2" Drive 3-100Nm TCTQ12100M

At a Glance: Powerful 1/2" drive digital torque wrench with a 3-100Nm working range, 0.1Nm resolution, backlit LCD display and progressive LED and audible torque alerts.

The Tork Craft TCTQ12100M Mini Digital Torque Wrench is a precision fastening tool designed for accurately tightening bolts, nuts and screws to a specified torque. With its 1/2" square drive and broad 3-100Nm torque range, it is ideally suited to automotive, mechanical, manufacturing, construction and workshop applications where controlled and repeatable fastening is essential.

The large backlit LCD display provides a clear numerical torque reading, while selectable Peak and Track/Real-Time operating modes give the user flexibility when applying or checking torque. Four selectable measurement units — Nm, kgf.cm, ft-lb and in-lb — allow the wrench to be used directly with a wide variety of manufacturers' torque specifications.

A 72-tooth bi-directional ratchet mechanism provides fine ratcheting movement for improved access where working space is restricted. As the selected torque value is approached, the integrated LED indicator and audible buzzer provide increasingly urgent feedback, helping the operator reach the preset torque accurately without having to watch the display continuously.

Digital torque control with a versatile 3-100Nm working range

The TCTQ12100M combines a practical 1/2" drive ratchet with accurate electronic torque measurement. Its 100Nm maximum capacity, digital display, programmable torque settings and visual and audible warning system make it a valuable tool wherever fasteners must be tightened consistently to a specified torque.

Extra Information

Peak and Track torque modes

The TCTQ12100M provides two operating modes. Track/Real-Time (T) mode displays the torque being applied as it changes, while Peak (P) mode is the peak-hold mode for monitoring the highest torque value reached during the fastening operation.

LED and audible torque warning

Once a target torque value has been set, the wrench provides progressive visual and audible feedback as that value is approached. At approximately 80% of the selected torque the LED begins flashing and the buzzer sounds. As the target value gets closer, the LED flashes and the buzzer sounds more rapidly. At 100% of the selected torque the LED and buzzer remain continuously activated, signalling that the preset torque has been reached.

Four selectable torque units

The digital display can be changed between Nm, kgf.cm, ft-lb and in-lb. This makes it convenient to work directly from automotive, engineering, machinery and equipment manufacturers' torque specifications without having to manually convert between units.

Why choose a 1/2" drive torque wrench?

The 1/2" square drive is commonly used for larger sockets and applications requiring greater torque than smaller 1/4" or 3/8" drive tools. With its 3-100Nm working range, the TCTQ12100M offers useful torque capacity while retaining the advantages of an electronic display, programmable settings and progressive torque warnings.

Keeping a torque wrench accurate

A digital torque wrench is a precision measuring tool and should be handled accordingly. To help maintain its accuracy, the manufacturer recommends calibration once a year, after unusual handling or overloading, or after approximately 5000 operating cycles.

Using extensions correctly

Extensions that move the centre of the fastener away from the centreline of the ratchet drive can change the effective torque delivered to the fastener. This should be taken into account when using offset extensions or adaptors. Always follow the relevant equipment manufacturer's specified torque procedure.

Pro Tips

Power up before loading: Switch the wrench on before applying force. Applying force before power-up may create an offset reading that requires a reset.
Use a smooth, steady pull: Apply torque gradually through the handle rather than using a sudden or jerking movement.
Stop at the target: Release pressure once the preset torque indication has been reached. Continuing to apply force may over-torque the fastener.
Hold the wrench correctly: Apply force through the designated handle area only. Never fit a pipe or similar extension over the handle to increase leverage.
Use the correct socket: Choose a suitable 1/2" drive socket or accessory that fits the fastener correctly.
Follow the manufacturer's specification: Always use the torque value specified by the vehicle, machine, component or equipment manufacturer.
Look after the batteries: Remove the batteries if the torque wrench will not be used for an extended period.

How to Use

Install the batteries: Fit the two supplied 1.5V AAA batteries into the battery compartment with the correct positive and negative orientation.
Switch on: Press the P/C button to turn on the wrench. The display should show a zero reading before any torque is applied.
Select the operating mode: Use the M button to choose between Peak (P) and Track/Real-Time (T) mode.
Set the required torque: Adjust the target value with the increase/decrease controls, ensuring that the setting remains within the 3-100Nm operating range.
Select the measurement unit: Use the U/S control to choose Nm, kgf.cm, ft-lb or in-lb.
Fit the correct socket: Attach a suitable 1/2" drive socket or accessory securely to the square drive and position it correctly on the fastener.
Apply torque: Apply slow, steady hand pressure through the handle while maintaining a stable and balanced working position.
Monitor the warning: The LED and buzzer begin providing feedback as the selected torque value is approached.
Stop at the preset value: Release pressure when the target torque is reached. Do not continue applying force beyond the required setting.
Reset when necessary: Use the P/C button to clear the displayed value before the next measurement where required.
