Tork Craft Stainless Steel Cutting Disc 115 x 1.6 x 22.22 mm

At a Glance: Dedicated INOX cutting disc for stainless steel, featuring a 115 mm diameter, 1.6 mm thickness and maximum operating speed of 13,300 rpm.

Bring your stainless steel fabrication projects to size with the Tork Craft ABR115SS-2 Cutting Disc. Designed specifically for stainless steel cutting, this 115 mm disc combines corundum abrasive with a reinforced resin bond to cut through suitable stainless steel sheet, tubing, flat bar and profiles using a compatible angle grinder. Its 1.6 mm cutting profile suits workshop tasks such as trimming components, cutting tubing to length and preparing brackets for assembly. Whether you are building, fitting or repairing stainless steel components, this dedicated INOX disc helps you match the accessory to the material. Use it with the correct cutting guard, secure workpiece support and a steady feed for controlled cutting.

Dedicated INOX cutting disc

INOX identifies the disc's stainless steel application. The corundum abrasive performs the cutting action, while the reinforced resin bond holds the abrasive grains together. This disc is intended for cutting with its edge; keep it aligned with the cut and use a separate suitable accessory for grinding or finishing.

Product highlights

Stainless steel application: Specifically designed for cutting stainless steel.
115 mm diameter: Fits compatible 115 mm angle grinders with the correct mounting arrangement.
1.6 mm thickness: Provides a slim cutting profile for cutting components to size.
Corundum abrasive: Aluminium oxide abrasive performs the material removal.
Reinforced resin bond: Resin-bonded construction with reinforcement, identified by the TBF marking.
Clearly marked operating limits: Maximum speed of 13,300 rpm and peripheral speed of 80 m/s.

Compatibility

Angle grinders: Suitable for 115 mm angle grinders approved for this disc diameter, thickness and bore.
Mounting bore: The disc label and supplier specifications state 22.23 mm, nominally 7/8 inch. The product listing describes this as 22.22 mm.
Workpiece material: Stainless steel sheet, tube, flat bar, angle and other profiles within the grinder's cutting capacity.
Guard and flanges: Requires a suitable cutting guard and the mounting flanges specified by the grinder manufacturer.
Speed rating: The grinder's maximum rated speed must not exceed the disc's 13,300 rpm limit.

Extra Information

Material selection: This model is specified for stainless steel cutting only.
Bore measurement: The 22.22 mm listing and 22.23 mm label refer to the nominal 7/8 inch mounting size. Confirm compatibility with your grinder's mounting system.
Keep stainless steel work clean: Use accessories dedicated to stainless steel and keep the work area free of mild steel debris to reduce contamination.
Disc wear: The diameter decreases during use, reducing the available cutting depth.
Storage: Keep discs dry and protected from impact, moisture and excessive heat. Observe any expiry date marked on the disc.

Cutting only: Use the disc's edge for cutting. Do not use its side face for grinding, and do not twist it inside the cut.

Pro Tips

Mark the required finished length and cut on the waste side of the line, allowing for the cutting width.
Clamp the workpiece securely and support it so the cut cannot close and pinch the disc.
Keep the grinder aligned with the cut. Reposition only after the disc has stopped.
Apply steady, moderate pressure and let the abrasive work instead of forcing the disc.
Keep stainless steel cutting accessories separate from those used on mild steel.
Allow the cut piece to cool, then remove burrs with a suitable stainless steel finishing accessory.

How to Use

Confirm that the workpiece is stainless steel and that the grinder accepts a 115 mm disc with the specified thickness and bore. Check that the grinder's maximum rated speed does not exceed 13,300 rpm.
Switch off the grinder and disconnect its power supply or remove the battery before fitting the disc.
Inspect the disc for damage and check its expiry marking. Fit an undamaged, in-date disc using the flange arrangement and tightening method specified in the grinder manual.
Fit the appropriate cutting guard and auxiliary handle. Confirm that the disc is secure and rotates freely without touching the guard.
Mark and clamp the workpiece. Support the material to prevent pinching, and clear the spark path of people and combustible materials.
Wear the required protective equipment, hold the grinder with both hands and briefly run the disc clear of the workpiece. Stop immediately if abnormal vibration occurs.
Allow the grinder to reach operating speed before entering the cut. Guide the disc straight through the material with steady pressure, avoiding twisting and sideways loading.
At the end of the cut, withdraw the disc, switch off and wait for it to stop completely before putting the grinder down. Disconnect the power before changing accessories.

Features

Dedicated stainless steel disc: INOX designation identifies its intended cutting application.
115 x 1.6 mm dimensions: Compact diameter and slim cutting profile for compatible angle grinders.
Corundum abrasive: Aluminium oxide cutting grains held in a resin bond.
Reinforced construction: TBF marking identifies the reinforced resin bond.
WA46 TBF marking: Abrasive specification printed on the disc label.
EN 12413 marking: The disc label carries the bonded abrasive safety standard marking.

Benefits

Match the disc to the job: A dedicated stainless steel accessory simplifies selection for INOX cutting tasks.
Cut components to length: Useful for preparing stainless steel tubing, bars and profiles before assembly.
Support fabrication and repairs: Suitable for trimming replacement pieces, brackets and workshop components.
Plan cuts accurately: The stated 1.6 mm thickness helps you allow for material removed during cutting.

Application

Cutting stainless steel sheet and panels to size.
Cutting stainless steel tubing and hollow sections to length.
Trimming stainless steel flat bar, angle and profiles.
Preparing stainless steel brackets and fabrication components.
Cutting suitable stainless steel parts during fitting and repair work.

Safety

Wear safety glasses, a face shield, hearing protection and suitable respiratory protection for the cutting task.
Wear suitable gloves, protective clothing and safety footwear. Keep loose clothing, jewellery and hair clear of moving parts.
Use the correct cutting guard and auxiliary handle, and hold the grinder securely with both hands.
Never exceed the disc's maximum speed of 13,300 rpm. Check the markings on the actual disc before use.
Do not use cracked, chipped, distorted, damaged or expired discs. Never enlarge the bore or force a disc onto an unsuitable mounting system.
Cut with the disc's edge only. Avoid sideways pressure, twisting and forcing the disc through the material.
Clamp and support the workpiece securely. Keep hands away from the cutting path and position your body clear of the disc's plane of rotation.
If the disc binds, switch off and hold the grinder still until rotation stops. Correct the cause before restarting; never restart with the disc trapped in the cut.
Direct sparks away from people and combustible materials. Keep bystanders clear and maintain a tidy work area.
Do not introduce water or coolant unless both the grinder and disc are explicitly approved for that method.
Allow freshly cut pieces to cool before handling and take care around sharp edges.
Wait for the disc to stop completely before putting the grinder down. Disconnect the power before changing discs, making adjustments or leaving the tool unattended.
