TORK CRAFT BACKS BRANCH, MEIRING, TORRÃO ON SAFARI

Ross, Mauritz & Alex take Tork Craft on Safari

South Africa's favourite tool brand Tork Craft is supporting three of the South African Bike entries on the W2RC World Rally-Raid Championship South African Safari around Sun City this week. Botswana Dakar hero and 2023 World Champion Ross Branch needs no introduction, while it's a huge week for local lads Mauritz Meiring and SA-based Portuguese rider Alex Torrão.

“Tork Craft is proud to partner Ross Branch, Mauritz Meiring and Alex Torrão in the biggest South African motorsport event in over 30 years at the W2RC World Championship South African Safari Rally around Sun City this week,” Tork Craft CEO Ryan Hunt confirmed. “We wish all three of our riders and the South African organisers the very best for a huge week ahead.”

World Rally Raid Bike Champion in 2023 and former triple South African Cross Country champion Ross Branch and his Hero Moto need no introduction. The Botswana rider will be fighting for nothing less than overall victory on his home event. “I cannot wait to race back in South Africa,” Ross admitted. “A few admin checks today and then it's time to send it through this beautiful country!”

Mauritz Meiring is among the handful of South African locals competing in the Safari. “I am delighted to be racing the South African Safari Rally,” Mauritz confirmed. “I simply cannot wait to start this amazing journey!” South African Portuguese National Alex Torrão loves racing as much as his famous day job as a top chef. “The Safari is the next step in my unique Dad2Dakar project,” Alex points out. “Bring it on!”

The third round of the W2RC World Rally-Raid championship, the South African Safari starts Monday 19 May and races more than 1200 kilometres over six days to Saturday 24 May.
