Cutting Diameter: 3/8" Classification: Standard (Yellow)
The Core Box Router Bit is an essential tool for creating a variety of decorative and functional rounded grooves,
channels, and slots in woodworking projects.
Characterized by its half-round (or semi-circular) cutting profile and typically made with durable materials like
Tungsten Carbide Tips (TCT) for superior sharpness and longevity, this bit is designed to plunge into the material
to form a round-bottom groove.
Its primary application is to produce a round bottom groove or channel, ideal for decorative work like fluting on
columns, creating reeding patterns, veining, or general ornamentation on furniture and panels. By using an edge
guide, it can also be used to cut coves. Compatible with hand-held, table-mounted, and CNC routers, Core Box Bits
are versatile for use with a wide range of materials including hard woods, soft woods, plastics, and various
composite materials.
Available in various diameters and corresponding radius measurements, selecting the correct shank size for your
router's collet is crucial for both safety and optimal performance.
Application:
Router bits are for use with router machines only.
Be sure that at least 3/4 of the shaft length is inserted into the router collet.
Do not "bottom-out" the bit in the collet. The shank should be 1/8" from the bottom of the collet.
Route in two or more passes when large amounts of stock must be removed.

Extra Information
Take multiple shallow passes for deeper grooves to avoid overheating or deflection.
Use fences or templates to guide long routing runs with accuracy.
Maintain bit sharpness and clean edges for best results in softer and harder woods.
Pro Tip
For decorative panel flutes, mark out and use a fence or guide to keep spacing consistent across multiple grooves.
On veneered surfaces, make a scoring pass before routing full depth to protect the surface edges.
