Extra Information

  • This product is for external threading. For internal threading, use the correct matching tap.
  • Use with the recommended NR9030C round die holder for M26-M30 dies.
  • Use lightweight oil when cutting ferrous metals.
  • Use paraffin or beeswax when cutting aluminium.
  • Do not use oil when cutting cast iron.
  • Not suitable for stainless steel applications.
  • Requires controlled operation and correct tool selection to avoid failure.

Pro Tips

  • Always start the die square to the workpiece. A crooked start can damage the thread and cause poor fitting.
  • Chamfer the end of the workpiece slightly before threading to help the die start smoothly.
  • Use the correct lubricant for the material being cut to improve finish quality and extend tool life.
  • Use a forward-and-back cutting action: turn forward to cut, then reverse slightly to break the chip before continuing.
  • Do not force the die. If it becomes tight, reverse the tool, clear the chips, re-lubricate and continue carefully.
  • Clean and lightly oil the die after use to help protect the cutting edges during storage.

How to Use

  • Confirm that the required external thread is M30 x 3.5mm.
  • Check that the material is suitable for this die, such as mild steel, aluminium or brass.
  • Secure the workpiece firmly in a vice or suitable holding fixture.
  • Chamfer the starting end of the workpiece to help guide the die onto the material.
  • Fit the die into the correct round die holder, such as NR9030C, and secure it properly.
  • Apply the correct lubricant for the material being cut.
  • Position the die squarely on the workpiece and begin threading with steady pressure.
  • Turn forward to cut, then reverse slightly to break the chip. Repeat until the required thread length is reached.
  • Remove the die carefully, clean away swarf and test the thread fit with the correct nut or gauge.
