Festool Granat Net Sanding Discs 150 mm P120 – 50 Pack

At a Glance: 50 x 150 mm P120 mesh sanding discs with StickFix fastening. Open net construction supports dust extraction across the sanding surface, helping reduce clogging and maintain effective sanding performance.

Prepare surfaces with confidence using Festool Granat Net P120 sanding discs. Designed especially for materials that generate substantial dust, these 150 mm mesh abrasives allow dust to pass through the working surface rather than relying on a fixed pattern of punched extraction holes. This helps keep the abrasive cutting effectively when sanding fillers, repair compounds, paint, varnish and base layers. P120 provides a useful intermediate preparation stage, refining surfaces after coarser sanding before progressing to the finer grades required for the finished result. With a durable mesh structure and a practical 50-disc pack, Granat Net is a dependable choice for painters, decorators, joiners and renovation professionals using compatible Festool sanding equipment.

Granat Net – efficient preparation for dusty materials

The open mesh creates extraction paths across the abrasive surface. Combined with a suitable protection pad and effective dust extraction, it helps reduce abrasive loading and supports consistent material removal.

Product Highlights

  • Full-surface dust extraction: Dust can pass through the open mesh across the working area.
  • Reduced clogging: Efficient dust removal helps extend the abrasive’s usable life.
  • Durable construction: Tear-resistant mesh and stable edges support demanding preparation tasks.
  • Simple disc positioning: No punched extraction-hole pattern needs to be matched.
  • P120 preparation grade: Refines suitable surfaces after coarser sanding.
  • 50-disc pack: Keeps one frequently used grit available for repeat work.

Product Compatibility

  • Festool ROTEX RO 150: Use with the appropriate 150 mm sanding pad and protection pad.
  • Festool ETS 150 and ETS EC 150: Suitable for the matching 150 mm sanding setup.
  • Festool ETSC 2 150: Compatible with the 150 mm cordless random orbital sander.
  • Festool ES 150, LEX 150 and WTS 150: Listed by Festool for this abrasive format.
  • Festool HSK-D 150: Suitable for the matching round hand-sanding block.

Protection Pad Required: Fit a suitable 150 mm protection pad between the main sanding pad and Granat Net disc. Festool protection pad PP D150/2, article 203343, protects the sanding pad’s fastening surface from premature wear and is sold separately.

Extra Information

Where P120 Fits

P120 is finer than P100 and coarser than P150. It can be a useful stage after initial levelling, but the correct starting and finishing grits depend on the material, its condition and the intended coating. Follow the coating manufacturer’s preparation guidance.

Mesh and Extraction Work Together

The abrasive’s open structure provides a route for dust removal. The sanding pad, protection pad, extraction hose and extractor must also be correctly fitted and maintained to make effective use of that airflow.

Protect the Main Sanding Pad

The protection pad is a replaceable wear layer between the abrasive and the main pad. Check its fastening surface regularly and replace it when it no longer holds the disc securely.

Check Before Applying a Finish

P120 does not automatically provide the final surface required for every paint or varnish system. Inspect for remaining scratches and continue through the appropriate finer grades where necessary.

Pro Tips

  • Test the grit on an inconspicuous area before preparing a finished component or delicate coating.
  • Let fillers and coatings cure as specified before sanding to reduce smearing and abrasive loading.
  • Keep the pad flat on flat surfaces and use light, even pressure.
  • Remove loose dust between grit stages to prevent coarse particles from affecting finer sanding.
  • Inspect under good lighting so deeper scratches are addressed before the next preparation stage.

How to Use

  • Switch off the sander and disconnect the power supply or remove the battery before changing accessories.
  • Check that the 150 mm sanding pad is clean, undamaged and suitable for the work.
  • Fit the appropriate protection pad, then centre and secure the P120 Granat Net disc.
  • Connect suitable dust extraction and select the machine settings recommended for the material.
  • Sand with controlled, overlapping passes, avoiding excessive pressure and checking the surface frequently.
  • Replace worn or damaged discs and progress to finer grades as required for the intended finish.

Features

  • Granat Net abrasive quality: Developed for sanding surfaces that produce large quantities of dust.
  • 150 mm circular format: Matches compatible Festool 150 mm sanding equipment.
  • P120 grit: Provides a defined step in a progressive sanding sequence.
  • StickFix attachment: Supports straightforward fitting and abrasive replacement.
  • Open mesh backing: Allows extraction without a fixed punched-hole layout.

Benefits

  • More consistent sanding: Reduced dust build-up helps maintain the abrasive’s cutting action.
  • Better disc utilisation: Less loading can reduce premature abrasive replacement.
  • Quick abrasive changes: Centre the disc without aligning individual extraction holes.
  • Easier surface inspection: Effective extraction helps clear loose sanding dust from the work area.
  • Backing pad preservation: The specified protection pad provides a replaceable layer over the main pad’s fastener.

Application

  • Refining suitable cured fillers and repair compounds.
  • Preparing painted or varnished surfaces during renovation.
  • Sanding dusty base layers before finer surface preparation.
  • Surface preparation in painting, decorating and drywall work.
  • Sanding wood and wood-based materials where P120 suits the preparation requirements.
  • Reducing scratches left by a coarser grit before moving to finer abrasives.

Safety

  • Wear suitable eye and hearing protection when operating powered sanding equipment.
  • Use effective dust extraction and respiratory protection appropriate to the material.
  • Disconnect the machine’s power source before fitting or removing abrasive discs.
  • Replace torn discs, damaged pads and components that no longer hold the abrasive securely.
  • Follow the sander’s operating instructions and the material manufacturer’s preparation guidance.
