Extra Information

  • Use for paring and fitting operations; avoid heavy mallet strikes unless it's built for that impact.
  • On cross-grain cuts, first score an edge to avoid tear-out.
  • Strop frequently during detailed finishing to keep the edge keen.

  • When fitting joints, cut a little undersize and use the chisel to fine-tune the fit — small, careful paring wins over heavy hacking.
  • For glue removal in joints, hold the chisel nearly horizontal and gently scrape — the 10 mm width gives good control in grooves.
