Steel Gauge Block Set ISO3650 GRADE 1 56 Piece
SERIES 512

By using a steel gauge block set, you can establish and maintain accurate dimensional standards, ensuring the quality and precision of your products and processes.

A steel gauge block set is a precision tool used for calibration and measurement in industrial, manufacturing, and laboratory settings. Also known as Johansson blocks or slip gauges, gauge blocks are rectangular or square pieces of steel (or other materials) that have been ground and lapped to a precise thickness. They are primarily used to calibrate or verify the accuracy of other measuring instruments, set up machine tools, and establish exact measurements for machining processes.

Applications:

Calibration of Measuring Instruments: Used to calibrate tools like micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators to ensure they deliver accurate measurements.
Machine Setup: Used for precision alignment and setup of machine tools, jigs, and fixtures in machining operations.
Dimensional Measurement: Gauge blocks can be used directly in dimensional metrology to verify the accuracy of part dimensions or to set reference standards in manufacturing.
Precision Engineering: Essential in fields requiring ultra-high precision such as aerospace, automotive, and tool making industries.

Care and Maintenance:

Handling: Handle gauge blocks with care to avoid scratches or nicks. Wear gloves to prevent oils from the skin from corroding the steel.
Cleaning: Clean blocks with alcohol or special cleaning solutions before use to remove dust, debris, or oils.
Storage: Always store gauge blocks in a protective case in a controlled environment to prevent corrosion and wear.

Advantages:

Unmatched precision in setting and calibrating other measuring instruments.
Versatility in creating custom measurements by combining multiple blocks through wringing.
Durability due to the high-quality steel construction.
