Tork Craft Steel & Stainless Steel Cutting Disc 115 x 1.0 x 22.2 mm 4x More Performance

At a Glance: Thin 1.0 mm cutting disc for steel and stainless steel, with a 115 mm diameter, 22.2 mm bore and Tork Craft's 4x More Performance designation.

Get your metal cutting projects moving with the Tork Craft ABR115SE. Designed for steel and stainless steel cutting on compatible 115 mm angle grinders, this disc features a slim 1.0 mm profile for a narrow cutting path. It is a practical choice for trimming sheet metal, cutting tubing, sizing flat bar and preparing steel profiles for fabrication or repair work. Its reinforced, resin-bonded abrasive construction performs the cutting action at the disc edge, while the 22.2 mm bore suits grinders with the appropriate mounting arrangement. Carrying Tork Craft's 4x More Performance designation, the ABR115SE brings a dedicated steel and stainless steel cutting option to your workshop toolkit.

Tork Craft 4x More Performance

The ABR115SE is identified by Tork Craft with the 4x More Performance designation printed on the disc. Its thin cutting profile and steel-and-stainless application make it suitable for a wide range of fabrication, maintenance and repair tasks. Actual cutting results depend on the material, workpiece size, grinder and cutting technique.

Product highlights

  • Steel and stainless steel cutting: One disc model for cutting both material types.
  • Thin 1.0 mm profile: Produces a narrower cutting path than thicker discs when correctly guided.
  • 115 mm diameter: Suitable for compatible angle grinders approved for this disc size.
  • Reinforced abrasive construction: Features a fibre-reinforced resin bond.
  • 4x More Performance designation: Clearly identified on the Tork Craft disc label.
  • Maximum speed of 13,300 rpm: Check the grinder's rated maximum speed against the disc rating before use.

Compatibility

  • Angle grinders: Compatible with suitable 115 mm angle grinders that accept the disc's 22.2 mm bore, 1.0 mm thickness and approved flange arrangement.
  • Steel: Suitable for cutting steel sheet, flat bar, tubing, angle iron and profiles within the grinder's permitted cutting capacity.
  • Stainless steel: Suitable for cutting stainless steel sheet, tubing and profiles.
  • Cutting guard: Use the grinder manufacturer's approved guard for abrasive cutting discs.

Extra Information

  • Understanding SS: SS means stainless steel. The disc label also uses INOX to identify its stainless steel application.
  • Performance designation: 4x More Performance is Tork Craft's stated designation for this product. Material thickness, grinder power and feed pressure affect cutting results.
  • Stainless steel handling: Keep separate discs for stainless steel and mild steel to help avoid transferring steel particles onto stainless steel surfaces.
  • Disc wear: Abrasive cutting discs gradually reduce in diameter during use, which also reduces the available cutting depth.
  • Storage: Keep discs dry and protected from impact, moisture and excessive heat. Observe any expiry date marked on the disc.

Important: Use this disc for steel and stainless steel cutting with its edge. Do not use the side face for grinding or twist the disc inside the cut.

Pro Tips

  • Mark the waste side: Position the cut on the waste side of your marked line to allow for the material removed by the disc.
  • Secure the workpiece: Clamp the material and support it so the cut cannot close onto the disc.
  • Keep the disc straight: Maintain alignment throughout the cut. Correct the grinder position before entering the material.
  • Use steady pressure: Let the abrasive do the work. Excessive pressure can slow the grinder and increase the risk of binding.
  • Dedicate a disc to stainless steel: Store it separately from discs used on mild steel when surface cleanliness matters.

How to Use

  • Check suitability: Confirm that the disc suits the workpiece and grinder. The grinder's rated maximum speed must not exceed the disc's 13,300 rpm rating.
  • Disconnect the power: Switch off and unplug the grinder, or remove its battery, before fitting the disc.
  • Inspect and mount: Reject cracked, chipped, damaged or expired discs. Use the correct mounting flanges and tighten according to the grinder manufacturer's instructions.
  • Prepare the grinder: Fit the approved cutting guard and auxiliary handle. Ensure the disc rotates freely without contacting the guard.
  • Prepare the workpiece: Mark the cutting line, clamp the material and support it to prevent movement or pinching. Clear combustible materials from the spark path.
  • Start safely: Wear appropriate protective equipment and hold the grinder with both hands. Run the disc clear of the workpiece and check for abnormal vibration.
  • Make the cut: Allow the grinder to reach operating speed, then guide the disc along the marked line with steady pressure. Avoid twisting, bending or sideways loading.
  • Finish safely: Withdraw the disc from the cut, switch off and wait until rotation stops completely before putting the grinder down. Disconnect the power before changing the disc.

Features

  • 1.0 mm thickness: Thin disc profile for straight cutting operations.
  • Aluminium oxide abrasive: Abrasive grain type identified by the disc's A designation.
  • Fibre-reinforced resin bond: Bonded abrasive construction with reinforcing fibres.
  • 115 mm diameter and 22.2 mm bore: Defined dimensions for checking grinder compatibility.
  • Steel and stainless steel application: Material suitability clearly stated on the disc label.
  • Marked speed limit: Maximum rotational speed of 13,300 rpm.

Benefits

  • Narrow cutting path: The thin profile removes less material across the cut width than a thicker disc.
  • Useful across metalworking tasks: Suitable for preparing steel and stainless steel pieces for fabrication, fitting and repairs.
  • Convenient material coverage: Use the same disc model for both steel and stainless steel applications, with separate discs where contamination control matters.
  • Clear accessory selection: Published dimensions, material markings and speed limits help you check suitability before installation.

Application

  • Cutting steel and stainless steel sheet to size.
  • Trimming steel tubing and hollow sections.
  • Cutting flat bar, angle iron and steel profiles.
  • Preparing metal components for welding and fabrication.
  • General metal cutting during maintenance and repair work.

Safety

  • Wear eye, ear and dust protection. Use safety glasses with a suitable face shield, hearing protection and respiratory protection appropriate for the dust generated.
  • Wear suitable gloves, protective footwear and close-fitting clothing. Keep loose clothing, jewellery and hair away from rotating parts.
  • Keep the approved cutting guard and auxiliary handle fitted. Hold the grinder firmly with both hands.
  • Never exceed the disc's 13,300 rpm maximum speed. Check the rating marked on the actual disc before use.
  • Inspect the disc before fitting it. Do not use a cracked, chipped, damaged or expired disc, and never alter its mounting hole.
  • Cut with the disc edge only. Do not side grind, bend, twist or force the disc through the material.
  • Clamp and support the workpiece to prevent movement and disc pinching. Keep hands clear of the cutting path.
  • If the disc binds, switch off and hold the grinder still until rotation stops. Correct the cause before continuing, and do not restart with the disc trapped in the cut.
  • Direct sparks away from people, flammable materials and combustible dust. Keep bystanders clear of the work area.
  • Do not introduce water unless both the disc and grinder are specifically approved for wet cutting.
  • Allow cut pieces to cool before handling. Wait for the disc to stop completely before putting the grinder down.
  • Disconnect the power before changing accessories, making adjustments or leaving the equipment unattended.
