Airless Spray Gun

Airless kitThe SG PPK800 airless spray gun is ideal for DIY homeowners, handymen and professional painters. The Famous Luxi has a slow-stroking stainless steel piston with packing valve seats and balls. The patented Triple-Life packing leads to reducing repacking costs. Its large high-torque electric motor runs slower thus reducing heat. The motor is Fan cooled and totally enclosed to reduce brush wear and to prevent the ignition of paint fumes in the motor

The airless spray gun is not air assisted - there is no need to connect the spray gun to an air compressor, thus the fluid cannot atomise at the tip of the spray gun.

The airless spray system (SG PPK800) Can be used with the following paints:

  • Primers
  • Stains
  • Varnishes
  • Latex

Airless spray finishing equipment: It is recommended for contractors who make use of large quantity paint on exteriors. The speed in which paint is transferred is more important than the finish quality.

Having speed is a great benefit, but it does sacrifice the finish quality and transfer efficiency. The airless unit make use of high pressure, which is strong enough to cut through rust and take of old paint. This effect causes overspray and bounce back. The transfer efficiency does not exceed 50% (half of the paint is not sticking to the surface painted on).

Safety warning: Do not put any part of your body in front of the spray gun when it is in use. This could lead to permanent injury.

Here is a table to illustrate transfer efficiency with various spray finishing systems:

 Spray finishing system  Transfer efficiency
LVLP (Low Volume Low Pressure)  65 - 83%
HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure)  65 - 80%
 Compliant  65 - 80%
 Air Assist Airless  45 – 83%
 Airless  35 – 50%

(65% transfer efficiency is the minimum requirement to comply to HVLP. Actual transfer efficiencies may vary)
